Why you aren’t in a healthy relationship and what to do about it

I believe one of the main reasons some struggle to maintain healthy long-term relationships is because, deep down, they don’t truly believe in their own innate worth. When we don’t fully recognize or embrace our value, it can lead to insecurity, settling for less, or even self-sabotage in relationships. Without that solid foundation of self-worth, it’s hard to attract or sustain the kind of love that reflects the respect and care we deserve.

The belief that you’re not worthy of love can come from many sources—whether it’s the environment you grew up in, a past relationship that left you wounded, or even cultural and societal norms. The amazing thing about somatic work is that where this belief originated is less important than recognizing that it’s there. Once you’re aware of it, you have the power to heal and transform.

The approach I recommend is a deep journey of self-love. And by that, I don’t mean bubble baths or crystals—I’m talking about a radical coming home to yourself. This is the essential foundation if you’re aiming for a healthy and fulfilling relationship.

This journey has four key steps:

  1. Rewiring Your Nervous System: Shifting your narrative and beliefs by working with your body, so you feel safe and worthy of love.

  2. Radical Self-Compassion: Addressing the blocks that hold you back, and honoring yourself and your past as part of your healing journey.

  3. Building Self-Trust and Confidence: Strengthening your ability to make good choices, raise your standards, and communicate clearly—all of which are crucial for a strong, healthy relationship.

  4. Letting It Flow: With a settled nervous system, deeper self-trust, and confidence, you’re ready to let things flow naturally. While no one can guarantee when a partner will come, you’ll be ready when the time is right.

Once you recognize that old beliefs around your worthiness are blocking your chances of having and sustaining a healthy relationship, you can take action. The Ready for Love program is elegantly designed to guide you through this journey, helping you create a healthy baseline from which to grow.

Know that by taking steps toward self-love, rewiring your nervous system, and deeply accepting yourself, you can build the level of self-trust that allows you to move through the world knowing that love is your birthright. From there, you can become playful and let it flow.
