FAQs

  • No, coaching is not therapy. While both are very valuable in moving you past roadblocks in life, their approaches differ in many ways. Coaching is about taking you from where you are now and moving you forward. Therapy often involves extensively examining your past to define how you got here in the first place. Some clients might benefit from working with both professionals concurrently. Most importantly, coaches do not diagnose or treat any psychiatric disorders. It’s a collaborative process, in which we help you define, speak out loud, and strategically move toward what you really want in life. We will help you find success as you define it - and deserve it! 

  • Embodied coaching is a process that allows you to connect with ALL of you — your thoughts, feelings, actions, spirit, and body to create lasting change. Talking or thinking our way towards success or away from our problems alone doesn’t usually create the shifts we desire. We know so much more now about the importance of body mind spirit connection with the backing of science. We need to attend to our WHOLE selves if we wish to make shifts that will have us living wholehearted, meaningful lives. Feel Moved coaching combines the framework of life coaching: laser focused questions to get to the heart of the matter, combined with somatic/embodiment techniques and modalities. By using these tools with the coaching model, we are able to tap into the bodies wisdom, making deeper shifts than if in conversation alone. Somatic tools include breath work, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or tapping) NLP, embodied visualization and more.

  • What makes coaching so awesome is that you work as a team with your coach. Sessions run typically for an hour. The coaching process is a chance to take an area of your life that is important to you and give it the gift of transformation, support and possibility. We work together to make changes that will take you to new ways of being that support the life you want to live.  

    This happens through powerful questions and using your body's clues to invite embodiment practices. The best coaching sessions happen when a clear intention is set for the session. We then explore. Based on what was discovered actions are set between sessions. There is then an agreement around accountability and communication between client and coach between sessions to keep on purpose. This piece is crucial to keep you on track throughout the week. The feeling of being supported throughout the week is worth its weight in gold.

  • Coaching is for you if you’re ready to take on your life. You know it will take some time and energy but the payoff weighs higher than staying with the status quo. You would appreciate working as a team to make life work better for you. Somatic coaching in particular can be helpful for those who tried talk therapy and although it was comforting at times, it didn’t provide the deeper shifts that you feel could be possible.

  • I am a certified professional coach and transformational embodiment facilitator. This training also included trainings on being trauma informed and cultural diversity awareness. I am also a trained school teacher and have taught dance and movement for 25+ years. I am also a yoga teacher.
